SEATTLE HOTEL & TRAVEL - SEATTLE WASHINGTON

Seattle Hotel and Travel Guide - The next time you are in the Pacific Northwest section of the United States, you may want to pay a visit to the largest city in the area, which is called Seattle. Here, you will encounter a variety of attractions and activities to make you never want to return home.

As with many other cities, this destination comes with its share of nicknames. The first is the “Emerald City,” which comes from the number of evergreen trees throughout the area. Sometimes the city is referred to as the Rainy City, as well as the Queen City or the Jet City, which originates from the importance of the Boeing Company in the area.

One of the aspects of the city that can become quite confusing are the many different neighborhoods that can be found in Seattle. When visiting the area, it is not uncommon to become distracted and lost with all of the various signs throughout the city. When finding the location of a place that you want to visit, you will have more luck finding the neighborhood rather than following a street address.

Main areas throughout Seattle include the Denny Regrade and Seattle Center sections of the city, which are locations used by locals to describe how to get to a particular destination. This is also true when referring to Eastlake, as well as the downtown area. Some of the main neighborhoods or sections of the city that you may encounter during your visit includes Pioneer Square, International District, Belltown, Magnolia, Central District, Capitol Hill, as well as the Queen Anne Hill area. For shopping options, you may want to pay a visit to the Upper Madrona area. In Georgetown, you will be able to locate Boeing Field, as well as the King County Airport.

Some of the attractions in Seattle to keep in mind include the Seattle Center/Space Needle, Woodland Park Zoo, as well as the cemetery site of musician, Jimi Hendrix.
